Producing and distributing social-first content for Sprite's campaign #HeatHappens 🥵🥤

The Mission

To create a series of content in two phases to go in conjunction with their current campaign ‘Heat Happens’ which was to emphasise that embarrassing things happen to everyone and that’s ok!


The Strategy

People generally don’t like to be knowingly sold to, and this is especially true for a Gen Z audience. To make an ad that doesn’t seem like an ad, we have to utilise subliminal marketing. This campaign is a GREAT example of this as a finished asset. 

Their campaign messaging was around all the embarrassing things us Brits do abroad so we had to include a sunburn-ed top! To tie in the campaign messaging with the brand’s product, we added a can of Sprite to the image included in the meme. 

This worked really well with our audience as they could resonate to the storyline we had curated, and the advertising of the product wasn’t heavily pushed on to them, resulting in the meme ad receiving over 1 MILLION impressions. 

A fab example of getting the campaign messaging across without forcibly showing your brand. Letting the audience decipher this themselves and think it’s clever rather than annoying.
